Imagine seeing a sight that was enjoyed nearly one hundred years ago. IMAS is proud to present, on loan from the private collection of Dr. Lawrence Gelman, a compilation of stained glass windows originating from St. Paul's Church in Albany, New York and dating back 1914. This wonderful exhibition of religious iconography will also feature windows produced by the famed glass company, Tiffany Studios. IMAS invites the public to immerse itself in viewing the splendor of an art form that has graced the walls of churches, cathedrals, and other religious architecture of the world. The gallery is designed and finely crafted to replicate the backdrop for such an ethereal event. Icons

She believes the muse that inspires her writing borrows from the spirit of her second cousin, poet Robert Lee Frost, and her great relative, Oliver Wendell Holmes. She has studied under the authors Bonnie Hearn-Hill and Sandi Ault, and founded and taught the Mountain Poetry Readers and Writers Group of Estes Park, Colo.

The workshop is limited to 12 writers, and the fee is $145 for non-members and $120 for UVAL members.

Contact: DeAnna Garza 956-686-4520 deanna@kirkclark.com
A fund-raising art exhibition will be hosted at The Loft, located at 501 W. Business 83, from March 22-May 7, 2007, with an opening reception March 22nd at 6:00 p.m.

“Clark Art for Habitat”, is a colorful exhibit with new, never before seen art work that Kirk Clark, and fellow artist and daughter, Anne Clark-Lawson have just produced. Both artists have used a wide range of subjects to create sculpture, monoprints and drawings. Over 65 contemporary works will be available for purchase with all proceeds benefiting Rio Grande Habitat for Humanity. “The idea is to highlight Habitat for Humanity, and really showcase all that this organization does for the people of the Rio Grande Valley,” said Kirk.

Rio Grande Habitat for Humanity, 412 W. Ash Avenue, located across from the Loft, is a Christian non-profit organization that builds homes for people that need a hand up, not a hand out. Rio Grande Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to the ideal that people deserve a decent place to live and are dedicated to making family partners into responsible homeowners. Rio Grande Habitat for Humanity will have an open house and conduct volunteer-guided tours of the facility that evening.

“Clark Art for Habitat” is an idea born of local artist and philanthropist, Kirk Clark. Kirk is trying to mirror a fund-raising exhibit that he recently had in Cuidad Victoria, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Over $25,000 dollars was raised opening night through the sale of Kirk’s art benefiting a charity organization called Centro de Rehabilitación y Educación Especial, or CREE, a center for rehabilitation and special education for underprivileged children.
